Timberlands

Wausau Paper manages more than 120,000 acres of timberland throughout the northern half of the state of Wisconsin. Most of these lands are managed on a sustainable basis for the production of wood fiber for its facilities and wide range of other forest products.

Company forest resources are managed by professional foresters utilizing sustainable forestry practices. We are proud of our long-standing reputation of responsible forest stewardship and the public benefit offered by our timberlands.

Recreation

Wausau Paper lands offer a variety of public recreational opportunities. Most company lands are open to the public for hunting and fishing. Other recreational activities include snowmobiling, hiking and cross country skiing. Click here to read our Corporate Land Use Policies.

Timberland Sales

As one of the largest private property owners in the state of Wisconsin, selected parcels of land are sometimes sold under one of our two limited liability corporations, Wausau Timberland Company and Mosinee Timberland Company. Parcels typically range from 10 to 500 acres in size. These properties may include developed lots, hunting and recreational property.
